Video Reviews
1. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
In the first video Through the Eyes of a Sculptor something I learned was the importance of picking out the perfect stone. How fragile and the level of resistance the stone has should all be taken into account. There were several techniques to knowing whether you’ve picked out the best stone. By how well you’re about to hear through the shell, and how tolerant to pressure it is.
In the second video Glass and Ceramic I learned some new interesting facts about glass and how it’s made. Glass is actually made with sand. The process of using sand allows for the glass to mode and not result into turning to a liquid. Ceramic on the other hand is made from raw materials such as clay, etc.
2. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?
These videos relate to the text because they both provide detailed information that clearly explains how sculptors and glass are made. They also explains the us that although it may seem very cool it’s important to attentive to detail. They show how to go about craving, casting and piecing it all together. Both the text and the videos provide their viewers with essential information.
3. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of the topics: Sculpture, Installation, and Craft?
After viewing the videos I came to the conclusion that they were extremely information and went into specific detail about each point they made. They used plenty of real life examples while explaining the different sculptures.
